Welcome! I am Giorgio Ravagnani, the creator of Accademia Satoshi. This initiative was born from a long and winding journey towards knowledge. Understanding a disruptive revolution like Bitcoin has been the most stimulating challenge of my life so far. The more you study this fascinating ecosystem, the more hidden implications you discover; the deeper you dig into the rabbit hole, the more new paths emerge to explore.
Like many, I was initially drawn to this world by greed and speculation. I tried to find the “new Bitcoin,” thinking that Bitcoin was already “old news,” to ride the wave and make easy money. And here is the first lesson Bitcoin quickly taught me: there are no free lunches. Discouraged and confused, I decided to zoom out, stopping to follow the so-called projects endorsed by pseudo-gurus with incredible potentials that emerged daily. I decided to study the roots of this current, starting from scratch to understand where I was going wrong.
I immediately found fertile ground, as many topics touch on computer science and economics, my passions since a young age. Bitcoin revealed new aspects of these fields to me, enriching and completing my knowledge and making me realize right away that I was on the right path. Over time, I understood that the areas Bitcoin influences are surprising: social justice, freedom, politics, privacy, war, energy, environmental impact, antifragility, future, hope. Bitcoin makes you rethink fundamental concepts of daily life such as time, money, human interaction, temporal preference, and the very concept of value. It challenged everything I thought I knew about existence, humanity, and society.
From here, a seed was planted in my mind, pushing me every day to question how much I had really understood and how much was still missing to get a complete picture. As time goes by, the canvas of the picture expands, still without defined borders. I decided to create a tool that could help me understand my progress and serve as a compass for those who feel lost in the flood of information needed to master this technology. Accademia Satoshi was born this way, from a question that no quiz can ever answer:
